“I FEEL A SONG COMING ON”
is Vanessa and Darren’s first joint project and is a show with a little more than just song. Simple Choreography and a touch of Comedy, a few props and a couple of costume changes makes ”I Feel A Song Coming On” a rounded and memorable showcase for their joint talents.
The use of a live Pianist with some added backing breaks away from the normal formula of working to recorded music. This show is full of popular tunes and memorable arrangements many written especially for Darren and Vanessa. Songs like Zing Went the Strings Of My Heart, But Not For Me, Smile and many more will have audiences tapping their toes and singing along.
A running time of just over an hour makes this the perfect Supper Show, balancing enough time for an enjoyable meal with enough quality entertainment to send audiences home ready to book for more. The ideal evening for the pre- Christmas rush
Songs in the Show include:-
I Feel A Song Coming On./Lullaby of Broadway
Smile.
Broadway Baby.

VANESSA SKAER
Vanessa trained at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts
in England. On graduating Vanessa’s career saw her playing roles throughout
England and Europe as varied as Anita in West Side Story and Eliza in The King
And I. With shows like Oklahoma and
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat under her belt Vanessa moved to
South Africa. Since living in Durban Vanessa has seen success in the South
African tour of West Side Story and many varied appearances in Supper Theatre
and Cabaret throughout K.Z.N. Working now with Darren Vanessa has the
opportunity of experiencing the joy of producing her own work and working with
someone of similar style due to their British training. Vanessa’s double talent
of singer / dancer brings a sparkle to her work seldom seen never forgotten
DARREN KING
Darren King trained at one of England’s accredited schools of performing arts before working in Repertory Theatre and West End Theatre for a number of years. Specializing in musical theatre, Darren took the opportunity of working for P&O cruise liners where he was an entertainer for nearly two years. Moving to South Africa 7 years ago Darren spent a lot of time and energy helping to build a new business not related to the arts. Darren did however always keep his hand in by working as a singer for various charity and corporate clients and has appeared at the Edward Hotel and Durban country club besides other venues. He has also been involved in production, choreography and direction for several productions including two for Durban’s Singers Studio at the Drama and Opera of Durban's Playhouse. Darren's company is now established and allows him the time to perform again on a more regular basis; intimate cabaret and Supper Theatre is a medium which suites his talents well and allows him to work with the talents and music of people he admires.
