A retro evening of Latin Jazz and some cool swing performed by Alan
Bowen, Paul Botha, Liz Cunningham, Richard Ellis and Martin Botha. The cast of
Full Circle, who played at the Rhumbelow in August last year, are joined by
well- known percussionist Richard Ellis and newcomer Martin Botha on clarinet
and saxophone. Now adding piano to the line up, they deliver an evening of
highly energetic original compositions and some well known favourites such as
Mas que nada, Tequila, Java Jive and Satin Doll. The numbers have been given
the contagious syncopated Latin 'treatment'.
Alan and Paul have played in numerous productions over many years
and have two CD's of original music to their credit. Last year Alan, who also
teaches everybody's favourite school subject, appeared in the shows; Cabaret
Conversations, Leopard Skin and performed as session electric bassist on
various CD projects.
Paul is a corporate man by day, but by passion a musician, who has
accompanied many Durban artists and is equally at home on piano and acoustic
guitar.
Liz too has a business life
by day; being actively involved in developing the role of emotional
intelligence (EQ) in business and leadership. She has performed in many musical
productions, corporate theatre as well as cabaret.
Richard runs the Drum Circle at the BAT Centre and is a member of
the acclaimed percussion group 'Interitmo Drummers'. He has worked
internationally as a percussionist and shares his passion for drumming through
performance and teaching.
This promises to be a top entertaining evening with this talented
line up of local artists.
