Mary is coming to
The Rhumbelow. What a coup. This was awarded Best Comedy Musical at the Local
Fools Awards earlier in the year. Evan
and Carol, who both play in the Jazz Band at Zack’s at Musgrave have created a
brilliant piece of Comedy Musical Theatre, this show includes music by Billy
Joel, Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Neil Diamond and songs like Unforgettable,
Love and Marriage, Call me irresponsible, Hello Dolly and Candy Man. I saw this originally at the Hilton Festival,
and decided then that this had to come to the Rhumbelow. The show then went on
for a season at the Backstage at the Royal where again audiences raved. This
comedy Musical is NOT TO BE MISSED, as it is a stunning piece of work from 2
top Durban performers.

Bloody Mary is the new musical revue
that takes a light look at the Dark Ages. Queen “Bloody” Mary herself hosts
this comic romp through the history of England’s original dysfunctional Royal
Family. This is the comic story of Queen Mary the Only – England’s most hated
monarch. Heads will be rolling in the aisles as Queen “Bloody” Mary takes us on
this musical romp through the pages of history. Bloody Mary features
twisted versions of some familiar songs and guest appearances by all the
Terrible Tudors and their ex-wives. Bloody Mary leaves no axe un-ground
in its search for the real story behind the Terrible Tudors.
Carol Trench plays Bloody Mary and the “Ex’s” –
singer, sovereign, and royal pain; Evan Roberts plays Henry VIII on the one
hand and piano with the other.
