“Beautiful Noise”, a tribute to the music of Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow.

The show is a mix of live band gig and classy review bar and pays tribute to two of America’s finest singing and song writing talents.  The artists don’t attempt to emulate Diamond or Manilow, although the show is a “Beautiful Noise” - at times nostalgic, vibrant and even with its poignant moments - with Darren paying tribute to his best friend, Vanessa, who is performing in her last show in South Africa before she returns to the UK.

With Wallace Nock as the lead vocalist -performing most of the Neil Diamond numbers, Darren King presenting several Manilow numbers, both solo and sharing the stage with Vanessa Skaer, ably backed on piano and harmony by Rodney Chapman  - the show is a walk down memory lane for any fan of these two well known and popular artists.  The biggest challenge musical directors Wallace Nock and Rodney Chapman had was deciding what to leave out.  Said Nock “The list was so long - we ended up having to be quite ruthless, otherwise the show would go on all night.”  The result is the best of both artists and a show comprising some of Manilow and Diamond’s most loved music - including all time favourites “Sweet Caroline”, “You don’t Bring me Flowers”, Copacobana”, “Cracklin’ Rosie”, “Could it be Magic” and many more.

Nock and Chapman provide the musical backing to great effect on piano, keyboard, guitar and sax, together with some backing tracks and slick dance routines by King and Skaer (the last time this couple will probably dance together for some time), “Beautiful Noise” is a stylish and entertaining nostalgic trip down memory lane for anyone who has ever enjoyed the “Beautiful Noise” produced by Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond.
