With over 230 performances
under its belt, having traversed Southern Africa for 28 months of non-stop
touring, Green Mamba returns to Durban for the final time with 3 performances
at the Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo.
After multiple sell-out seasons in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban,
Harare, Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, universal rave reviews from critics and
four major awards, this is the last KZN will see of this astounding comic tour
de force.
For those who haven’t yet encountered the MAMBA, Green Mamba is a
venomous satirical comedy, taking a hilarious look at the trials and
tribulations of life in the new South Africa. Through a series of fifteen
ingenious sketches FNB VITA award winners Ben Voss and John van de Ruit take
the audience on a side-splitting journey through a day in the life of this
weird and wonderful country. From an in depth study of the refined art of
car-guarding, to a savage send up of the Big Brother Household, the humour runs
thick and fast culminating in the most enthralling horse race ever seen on a
South African stage! Green Mamba is directed by Greig Coetzee (White Men With
Weapons, Breasts) and written by John van de Ruit and Ben Voss.
