the Tango, Samba, Mumbo, Cha Cha, Salsa and Latin pop.
Latin music has
long influenced American popular music from jazz, rhythm and blues, to rock and
even country music. Believe it or not
even squeaky-clean Judy Garland’s first hit as a member of the
“Gumm sisters”
was “La Cucaracha” – right down to the line about marijuana!
Join svelte Liz
Cunningham (recently in “Denim to
Diamonds” and Latin shows “Latino Jive” and “Java Nights” at the
Rhumbelow), sassy Angela Dodds (Barnyard
babe in “G-String” and featured in the acoustic show that kept coming back
“Those were the days”; and spunky Marion Loudon (“Vegas Revealed” at Sibaya,
“When Basil met Elvis” at the Catalina and the pantomime “Snow White” at the
Kwasuka Theatre);
In celebrating
music such as Mas Que Nada, Sway, Besame Mucho, Guantanemera, LaCucaracha,
LaBamba, Mambo Italiano and music from artists such as the Gypsy Kings, Gloria
Estefan, Carmen Miranda, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and many more Latin influenced
