Neville Peterson, a great family man and musician passed away in May 2007.

This musical afternoon has been put together by Bobby Minter and friends to assist Beryle Peterson in this difficult time.

Neville Peterson was born in East London and then moved up to Northern Rhodesia where he played in a number of night clubs including the Tuger Inn in Ndola. He later moved to Southern Rhodesia where he had his own T.V. Show whilst playing at the La Boheme.

He met Beryle, they married and moved to Johannesburg. He played at many night clubs including Ciro's for Joe Kentridge and he spent a number of years playing at the Diamond Horseshoe. Whilst in Johannesburg he accompanied Matt Munro and jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery.

They moved to Natal in the late 70's where he worked at the Cosmo Night Club with the late Basil Metaxas and Anita Zucker, plus hotel gigs in and around Durban.

He formed a band called 'Leisure' with the late John Joustra & Bill McKinlay with Bobby Minter on vocals. He was very busy playing jazz at venues around Durban. His style was in the vein of Bill Evans & also the great 'Oscar Peterson'

He will be sorely missed.
